Since the NEET Exam date is May 5, 2024, most students who want to study MBBS abroad want to know what the minimum score is in the NEET Exam 2024 to get into an MBBS program abroad.

Before we talk about what we think the qualifying score or cut-off might be for NEET 2024, let's look at the cut-off scores from the last six years.

When was the NEET Exam cut-off score for 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, and 2018?

Listed below are the NEET Exam qualifying marks for each group over the last six years:

General Category: 137/720
SC/ST/OBC: 107/720

General Category: 107/720

The NEET Exam scores from the last six years should have made most of you see what we were trying to show. Anyway, if not, there has been a clear upward trend every year until 2020. In 2018, the minimum qualified marks were as low as 119 and 96. In 2020, they were 147 and 113. The scores stayed about the same in NEET 2021, at 138 and 108. But in NEET 2022, with a score of 107 out of 93, the qualifying points or cut-off fell to their lowest level ever. However, the results finally showed some progress in NEET 2023, with scores of 137 and 107 being enough to pass. This doesn't mean, though, that the NEET 2024 exam passing marks will go down this year because the exam was Compared to 2023, it's easier. There have been a few people in the past who got all 720 points, but that might not happen this year.

How many points should students try to get on the NEET 2024 exam if they want to study MBBS abroad?

Students should aim for at least 140 points in the general category and 110 points in the reserved category. After getting this number, you should be able to choose any medical school abroad where you want to study medicine without much trouble. It might seem like these qualifying marks are high (based on past trends that are hard to see continuing this year), but if you aim for these scores, you will probably at least get something close to them. The NEET Exam 2024 passing marks might be about the same as last year's. This is because it's not likely that the paper will become as easy as it was in 2020 anytime soon.

To stay in the 50th percentile (for the general category), all you have to do is stay in the top 10 percent of the 20 lac students who are taking the test. There you have it! The cut-off marks are just the last student's marks who got a score in the 50th percentile, which is about 10th lac.

So study hard and do your best to stay in the top 50% of students. Stay away from the other 50%, because they won't be seen as unqualified for an MBBS course in India or anywhere else in the world. The same rules apply to students in the restricted group, but they are less strict for them. They have to keep their score high enough to stay in the top 60% of all kids who took the test, which puts them in the 40th percentile.
