Season 14 gives endgame loot a useful second life through the Death Awakening update and the Horadric Cube. You will still see plenty of Mythic Uniques that miss your build, but those drops no longer feel completely wasted. A careful player can turn spare gear into new rolls, Resplendent Sparks, or another shot at a needed item. Keeping notes on your build and checking D4 items can also help you decide what deserves a place in your stash.
Check Every Drop Before You Let It Go
Do not rush a new Mythic Unique straight to the Blacksmith. Look at every affix first. One weak stat may be replaceable through the Occultist, and an item that does nothing for your main character could be valuable on an alt. Compare duplicates side by side, too. If three copies share the same name, keep the strongest one equipped or stored before using the other two in a Cube recipe. Small checks like this save a surprising amount of time and materials.
Choose the Right Recycling Route
The Horadric Cube is best when you have three copies of one Mythic Unique and want a fresh version of that same item. The recipe consumes all three, then returns a new roll with different affixes and a chance at Greater Affixes. For gear that has no realistic use, the Blacksmith is the cleaner choice. Salvaging a Mythic Unique returns one Resplendent Spark, along with ordinary materials.
| Situation | Useful choice | Result |
| Three matching copies | Horadric Cube | New roll of the same item |
| Gear with no build value | Blacksmith | One Resplendent Spark |
| Need a broad item roll | Blacksmith cache | Random Mythic Unique |
| Need a certain equipment slot | Jeweler recipe | Focused Mythic Unique roll |
Spend Sparks With a Clear Goal
Once your Spark supply grows, choose between two paths. The Blacksmith can use two Resplendent Sparks and fifty million gold for a cache that draws from the full Mythic Unique selection. It is cheaper in Sparks, but the result may not suit your character. The Jeweler requires three Sparks plus the listed magic, rare, and legendary runes. In return, the recipe focuses on a chosen equipment slot. Use it when a build needs a helmet, weapon, or another specific piece.
Inspect each Mythic Unique and test one weak affix at the Occultist.
Keep the best copy before placing duplicates in the Horadric Cube.
Send completely useless items to the Blacksmith for Resplendent Sparks.
Choose the Blacksmith cache or Jeweler recipe according to your current gear gap.
Keep the Loop Moving
The method works because every poor drop still has a job. Matching duplicates can become a cleaner roll, while unsuitable pieces supply Sparks for the next attempt. Gold, runes, and stash space become the real limits, so avoid spending them without a target in mind. If you want to fill a missing slot while preserving your farming time, buy cheap D4 items only after deciding which upgrade your build actually needs.
